What's New In The Studio?

Our new timetable has brought some real freshness to Group Exercise for 2024; we welcome some fabulous new instructors to the team and some great new classes for you to try. Friday evenings have seen some fantastic trial classes, are you ready to vote for your favourite?

During this timetable (January-April) we have been trialling new classes in the Friday evening 17:30 Studio 1 slot. Helen has taken us through our paces with the strength and conditioning based classes: Power Force and Total Body Ignition. Hannah brought us Vinyasa Yoga to bring some stretch, strength and relaxation into your Friday. The last couple of weeks have brought us  Dance Fit with Natalie Ozel and Barre with Hannah. Still to come we Zumba with Laura.

Laura

Laura’s passion has always centred around the performing arts and so, after gaining her degree in Theatre and Performance, she trained to obtain her PGCE as a performing arts teacher in secondary schools. After teaching in high school and college for 6 years she then decided to take on her own business, and she has been the owner and Principal of Stagecoach Performing Arts school in Macclesfield for the last 8 years. Laura feels that helping children grow and gain confidence through the performing arts is such a joy and a privilege, and she’s thrilled to be able to bring it to the Waterside with her Stage Stars classes. Laura believes that the performing arts should be accessible for all and she loves sharing her enthusiasm for it with all of her amazing Stage Stars!

Tuesday 08:30 Yoga Principles with Rosanne

A gentle start to your morning to feel calm and stretched! Yoga principles is a mindful practice of bringing back to basics; the breath! A breath-led practice where you are invited to be in your own body and be curious to explore what feels good that morning. We practice the same routine for a month with a different theme each week. This allows you to know what to expect each week and get to know the modifications that feel good for you. 

Tuesday 19:15 Core Strength Rach

Because of the confusion about what the core actually is, many people think that core strengthening means just doing ab workouts. Learn how to train your hips, back, and stabilise the core musculature to improve posture and balance and make everyday movements easier.

Studies show that increasing core strength and stability is your best defence against developing back pain. Challenge yourself and have some fun through stability work on swiss balls and advanced core strengthening exercises, with modifications available to suit all fitness levels. 

 

Wednesday 19:15 Reppin with Leon

With over a decade of teaching experience and an unwavering commitment to ongoing learning, I hope to bring a wealth of knowledge to guide you through a dynamic and rewarding Pilates experience. My passion lies in prioritising technique over ability, ensuring that each participant hones their practice in a safe and enjoyable manner. In this class, the emphasis is on cultivating a sense of accomplishment, allowing everyone to feel the positive impact on their bodies.
